About the Journal
Tér – Gazdaság – Ember/Journal of Region, Economy and Society is the academic journal of Széchenyi István University. Established in 2012, it has been published continuously since 2013. The journal aims to analyse spatial, economic, and social processes from a multidisciplinary perspective, with a particular focus on the interactions and interrelations among these phenomena. Between 2013 and 2024, the journal was published quarterly. From 2025 onward, it will be issued twice a year, in June and December, publishing articles in both English and Hungarian.
The journal follows a continuous publication model, making peer-reviewed and accepted articles available online in “Article in Press” format prior to the release of the full issue.
Tér – Gazdaság – Ember/Journal of Region, Economy and Society primarily focuses on topics within the fields of general economics, regional science, history of economic thought, economic history, economic statistics, marketing, management, logistics, and leadership studies. At the same time, it welcomes interdisciplinary contributions, especially those that connect to economic sciences and economic processes through related disciplines such as economic law, economic sociology, political science, economic psychology, ethics, engineering, and other branches of the social sciences.
Since its foundation, the editorial board has been led by several esteemed professionals, ensuring the journal’s academic quality and professional credibility.
The founding editor-in-chief, Dr. Ferenc Somogyi, associate professor, led the journal between 2012 and 2016, establishing its interdisciplinary vision and scholarly foundations. He was succeeded in 2017 by Prof. Dr. Tamás Dusek, university professor, who further strengthened the journal's scientific reputation. From 2018 to 2024, the role of editor-in-chief was held by Dr. habil. Adrienn Reisinger, associate professor, who focused on fostering interdisciplinary research. The work of these previous editors has significantly contributed to the journal becoming a key forum for the scholarly examination of economic and social processes.
