Every beginning is difficult... Preparing for the journal entitled Space – Economy – Society
Abstract
Every beginning is difficult, as the wise proverb says, and this is also true when launching a journal. With the memories recalled below, as the first editor-in-chief of the journal, I will attempt to provide the esteemed reader with information worth considering
about the events of the preparatory year (2012) and the lessons of public interest from the first four years (2013–2016).
There can be many pitfalls in launching an academic journal, and this was considered by all the faculty members of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics at Széchenyi István University who deemed it worthwhile to pay attention to the issues that arose during the quasi-preparatory year in connection with the planned journal. It is worth recalling the most important questions raised:
• Is the university or faculty capable of filling a demanding professional journal with socially useful content today and in the future?
• Can the university or faculty secure the financial backing for the journal?
• The preparatory year actually brought to light a number of interesting concerns, potential pitfalls, and

but also expected results in forums where the faculty members involved shared information that affected them, either formally or informally.
I would like to talk about these as well.
